Healing Hearts And Marriages

Many of you that know me, know that I have been in a separated relationship with my husband for 9 months, God used that time to teach and refine me. Truly when we turn our lives over to the Lord, we do not always know the coarse or see the way, but we can be of good comfort knowing that He has a plan and He will lead and guide, bless and direct if we let Him. I’ve learned this journey called life is about choices, it’s about what we cultivate in our hearts and minds that assist in creating the life we live. I have witnessed God’s mighty power and grace in our lives and surely God is truly a God of Miracles. He does the work of light and love, He has the power to touch hearts and heal in ways that no human being can. Our family has been touched and blessed by the Grace of God and we truly have received miracles and for this I am forever grateful.

Forrest and I had an opportunity to go to Nashville with our company, to learn the business, to connect with friends and to be inspired. I had a prayer in my heart going on this trip, that parts of my heart would be healed and softened towards Forrest as we have just begun to come together again and to heal and put back the pieces of our shattered hearts and relationship. Forrest made it easy to strive for this as he focused the entire trip on what he could do for me and for our team. His desire to serve and his willingness to sacrifice his own needs began to soften my heart and open my eyes to the man that he is striving to become. I will not lie, I felt much conflict and fear realizing that I needed to open my heart more to him and be vulnerable. I fought it and I had to surrender to feelings of remorse of leaving the single life behind as I was seeing that as freedom. Mostly, I had to face the deep fear that I had, the fear of being vulnerable and the possibility of being hurt again or falling into the same patterns. God had spoken over and over again, that some of that was in my control. It is how I chose to see the relationship, it was how I chose to act. It wasn’t until I took a stand within myself, that I made a clear decision to try again, to give it all I had to heal and do things differently that clarity came.

Sunday morning we attended the services that the company provided as they are a Christian-based company and it had been our experience in the past that so much good was done there and we had felt the Spirit of the Lord so strongly and been taught. We had come to love their Sunday services and the experience of feeling the energy of the love of Christ permeate a huge room and fill us up. It was during this service that the Lord spoke right to my heart. He said ” Your marriage is healed, see it has healed.” Move forward with this in your heart and mind. This thought broke through the darkness and confusion and was an answer of great hope and healing for me. I understood what the Lord was implying and teaching me…”see the thing you wish to be, create by your belief and your attitude and your vision what you want it to be. Act as if it already is.” I understand now that when we have a dream or a vision and hold fast to that, keep that in our minds eye and act in faith as if that has already become a reality, we actually call it into reality with greater speed and power.

We are living in a time when everything that we need is literally at our finger tips. The Lord is waiting to bless us with all that we need if we will but ask in faith and then act as if it has already been given. This is putting faith in action and using our agency to stand in our power to choose our lives. Our minds are very powerful and thoughts create. If you are in a place in your life that you do not like, if you are in a situation that you want to change. Ask the Lord to help you change your vision, switch your thoughts to what you do want and align your actions as though it has already happened. This brings magic to mayhem. It immediately puts you in a place of power in your life. The Lord wants us to stand in our power and to be powerful like He created us to be. We literally have the ability to create our lives by the thoughts we focus on and the intention we take our action in. I am grateful to know that I am on the path of healing and look forward to the many days of happiness ahead.

Do The Thing You Fear

norunningaway

As I have returned home from a Zeal For Life business convention, all fired up and ready to go, ready to move mountains in myself and in others, I realize fear is the number one obstacle that keeps me from moving forward. I have a new motto now….”do the thing you fear!” This has given me guidance and helped me day to day build confidence in myself. When we know we are afraid of something, especially of doing something we know we need to do or God has asked us to do, when we move through the fear and do it, we are blessed with confidence. Every day I use this motto as my gauge and my encouragement. If I find myself feeling down, or wandering around in confusion I ask myself “what are you afraid of doing?” “what are you avoiding doing?” and when I identify it, that is what I do that day, the very thing I am avoiding because it is the #1 thing I need to do that day or I would not be getting opposition. As I have been doing this, I realize my confidence and peace grows strong, I feel in control of my life and myself. When we move through our fears and are proactive in facing them we are empowered to be in a place of action to use our agency, instead of being in a place of reaction and feeling controlled. It is liberating to conquer our fears, to move through them and beyond, for God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of courage! So today, I say “rise up!”. Identify your fears, face them and move through them to a life of greater freedom. This life is about acting, creating, growing….the more we get out of our comfort zone, the greater our ability is to be led by an all loving and knowing God and to partner with Him in helping ourselves and others in profound ways. Rise up, face those fears, do the thing you fear and move into freedom and peace!

Do you believe in Miracles?

flowerinhands

Have you ever been so afraid of something that you have fought tooth and toenail to not have to do anything to deal with it or step a foot in the direction of resolving it? I believe we all have something like that and I have come to realize that my fear is committing to relationships. Committing to caring, loving, being open and letting others care for me, I have been afraid of jumping in with both feet and giving something everything I’ve got.  I have not always been this way, I did this with dance as a youth and in other relationships when I was young, but not that way now.  I think its because I have been hurt, like we all have in close relationships, maybe its because I am afraid of failing, or getting in way above my head. Maybe it’s because I am afraid of losing myself and giving away my personal power, like I did in my marriage for 10 years.  So the thing I’m talking about is real for me right now, I have a choice of whether to jump in after 9 months of separation and try this marriage thing again to a changed man or go run the other direction and see what else is out there for me.  To some, it would seem so simple, cut and dry….I am not some people, I am me and those who know me know that most things are not simple and clear cut in my life.  The question that it has really come down to for me to day is this…”Do you really believe in the Lord’s power to heal and change hearts?  Do you really believe in the power of the Atonement?…you say you do and here is an opportunity to really show your children and those around you that you do, yet you are struggling, why is that?”

Why am i struggling?  I think the question is…Do I really believe?  This is what I have come to: I believe that we have challenges in our lives to test and solidify our belief in God and his power and his words…..and I believe this is a test for me.  A test to really prove and strengthen my resolve of what I truly believe.  I believe in the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I believe that when we really come to Him humbled and ready to give him our hearts and really ready to change, we are blessed with the strength to do so, through the Atonement. I do believe the more we come to Jesus, the stronger and purer we become.  I do believe we all have the capacity to become new in Jesus Christ. I have in many different ways, so why couldn’t my husband….and who am I to judge him or to cause a stumbling block for him in his humble journey and progression towards his godly self.  Doesn’t the Lord simply require a broken heart and a contrite spirit, a willingness to take upon us His name and keep coming to him so we can be changed through his love from the inside out?  I prayed for 9 months for this to happen for my husband….doesn’t God live and doesn’t he hear and answer prayers? Yes, yes He does, He did and I am a witness to that.

I feel that we need to be very careful with each other, we need to allow our loved ones to change and believe that when they make the effort to do so and invite their Savior to help them, they can do it.  We need to speak life in Jesus to each other.  We need to not only lift each other up, but we need to cheer each other on and not create stumbling blocks by holding others to their old ways.  Anyone and everyone can change when they come to Jesus and let the blood of His Atonement wash them clean.  When they let the all encompassing Love of the Savior touch them to the very core. When they are willing to give up all their sins to know the one and only true Son of God. How can one not be changed when touched to the very core with the all powerful and encompassing love of the Savior of the World? It can happen and does and I have been a witness of this in my own life and now as well as my husband’s……miracles happen to those who believe and I believe in miracles.

Surrender

surrender4

Surrender is a word that can elicit several different responses, it did for me when it came to my mind today.  The feeling that stayed with me as I pondered on this word today was peace. Honestly, these past couple of days have been pretty brutal mentally and spiritually, I have felt like my world has be turned upside down and I could not tell which direction I was going in or should go in.  Have you ever felt like that? So of coarse, I am on my knees pleading for direction, for relief, for peace and it didn’t come until this morning when I got up to post my “word of the day” on Facebook.  Surrender…..I feel God whispering to me.  I immediately understood that this didn’t mean give up, this meant let go. I realize right now, I have been trying to force things in a certain direction in my life, I have been painting a picture in my mind and pushing out everything that doesn’t fit into that picture, worst of all the feelings of shame and guilt, worry and fear have begun to creep in.  I love that I can lean into the Lord and that He not only hears and answers, but his love and peace is all encompassing.  I can hear the word and feel the peaceful energy running through my body….surrender, let go and let God.

Sometimes we think and feel that we need to have everything all worked out, have it all planned.  This is not the case when you are inviting God and his Angels into your life. There is so much peace that fills my soul right now realizing that I do not have to have it all figured out, that when I come to Him and put my trust and faith in Him, He truly will provide and work it out as I get still, listen and follow. Is surrendering easy? For me it is not, but it is because I feel that my life is taking a different turn than I expected, I feel somewhat concerned and afraid, as the path I was on looked pretty dang good to me. I’ve been reminded that it’s not always the end result that is important as how we travel the road.  The end result is never what we think it too be, it is usually better, especially when God is involved.  Truth is, the road is windy, curvy and bumpy and really all we have control over is our attitude and our own actions. Really it’s how we travel the road….are we cultivating love, faith, trust, peace within us?  This is truly the most important.  The more still I get and the more I ponder on this word…surrender, the more I understand that God is just asking me to be at peace and let Him do what He does best ….guide.  Do you need to surrender today and let God guide your life?  Just know there is peace and joy and love on the other side and you are not alone! God bless you and I as we surrender to Him today.

Be Still

As I am preparing to uproot my family and move to another location, alone….I am coming to understand and appreciate more and more the counsel from God to “be still and know that I am God.” I woke up this morning feeling a great amount of anxiety because things were not working out the way I wanted and I felt that things were unraveling before me, that I was not going to get to where I wanted to go. The fighter in me began to rise up my thoughts began something like this, ” I will be moving this week come hell or high water, I don’t care what I have to do, this will happen!”  And my anxiety grew and I could not feel the spirit of the Lord with me, I hate that feeling! So I began to get still inside, quieting my thoughts and striving to connect back with my heart.  I began to speak to myself again “You are in the Lord’s hands, he will help you and watch over you. Maybe this is all happening for a reason. Let him guide you, go with the flow. ”

It has been a year now since I wrote this and on that day, I did move forward, my children and I, with my cousins help, moved 2 hours away and started our new life.  It has been a journey of learning and I have been a witness of many miracles. God sustained us and opened doors that day, just as He has every day since.  He has sent people at needed times and Angels to uplift, sustain and edify me and my family.  He has blessed us with money out of  no where and opportunities for more. To this day, I continue to learn that God speaks to us in many different ways, but the most powerful way is when He speaks directly to our hearts in a way that we must be still to hear and know.

I’ve come to understand that being still means that I quiet my mind, I stop thinking and I just quiet everything in my body and feel.  When I do this, it’s when I can feel Him so near and in a quiet but powerful way He speaks right to my heart.  I have noticed that knowing this has given me so much strength and direction in the mist of confusion.  I know that if I can get quiet and look into my heart, He will be there and I know it is Him because only He can speak to the heart, my spirit. His still small voice, cuts through the loud confusion and fear and anxiety quickly. His voice is gentle, direct and  brings peace and a feeling of overall well being.

“Being still”  means that we don’t react to the voices of fear and doubt and negativity that surround us and bombard our minds on a consistent basis.  God knows when we get still, we are putting ourselves in a place of hearing and receiving, its when we can receive clearly and then move forward with power. Getting still requires us to use our agency in a powerful way in the midst of confusion, confusion is of the devil, he wants us to get caught up in reacting.  When we react to fear and anxiety, we give Satan power over us, but when we make the choice to get still in the midst of confusion, we are taking a very powerful stand for ourselves and God.  We are disengaging from the confusion that is of Satan, we are saying “I see you Satan, I know what this is and I am not going to participate and you cannot have power over me.”   When we choose to get still and seek God, we are showing forth true power and inviting God’s power to carry us forward and through.   So when you and I begin to feel worry, doubt, fear and anxiety….we need to recognize it for what it is, and then get still, look for God, invite Him into our hearts and receive what He has to give.  God truly lives, is over all and offers His love and peace always in every moment. We  just need to “be still and know that he IS God.”bestill

Where is your heart?

This morning as I was reading in the bible Matt 6 :24 about how man can not serve 2 masters or we will either hate the one and love the other, or despise the one and hold to the other. We cannot serve God and mammon.  It made me really begin to think about who I am really serving and then where my heart is truly.  I believe that it is coming to a time where we can not be divided in any part of us, we cannot serve two masters, we cannot serve the heart and the head. We can not be undecided on who’s side we are on, who we serve and where are hearts are.  My heart has been divided, I say that I love God, but then I worry about what others think of me and I let others advice and opinion take precedence over what God has already told me in my heart.  I have had many people say…follow your heart and I believe the reason why we say this to each other is because essentially our heart is the center, our hearts are our spirit and our spirits are light and truth, godliness if you will, the same essence of God.

As I have pondered more this morning, these are the thoughts that came to me. When you are serving God, when you give your whole heart to him and serving him, really you are just being true to the truest part of yourself. You are actually coming into alignment with your true power and that is your Godly spirit. God doesn’t ask us to serve only him and give our hearts to only him because he is selfish and jealous, he asks us to do this because he knows in this we become truly free to rise to our highest potential. When we give our hearts to him, when we choose one path and are solid and firm in that, when we partner with him, we become our most powerful , highest self….experienced. When we partner with heaven, nothing can match that power. Our heart center is where the greatest amount of light resides, it’s the center of our spirit, it’s where our will lives, so when we turn our hearts to him and commit to love only light and truth and life, we are taking a powerful stand and in this we become free, we become one within ourselves, within the universe and with all that is light and truth and goodness. It’s when we split between serving God and Man that the trouble begins. The trap lies in wanting to serve God, but being afraid of what man thinks. When we become afraid of what men think, and let what they will do or not do permeate our thoughts and influence our decisions, we become divided within ourselves. A house divided cannot stand, so when we are divided within ourselves, we have no strength to stand against the trials and challenges of the day.
No Man can serve 2 masters for either he will hate the one and love the other or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. I realize I have been trying to serve 2 masters, my heart has been telling me to go in one direction and I feel peace, but then my head starts….”what will so and so think?”  or “so and so will be disappointed in you!”  or  “you are going to look like you are crazy!”  How many of us walk around in this battle every day?  It’s because we are not firm in our resolve to serve God and him only.  When those thoughts come we get taken off course, we begin to feel confused, angry, deceitful, depressed.  It is our responsibility to know where are heart lies, to choose whom we truly are going to serve and then stick to that come what may. This is where peace and happiness truly begin and stay.  So I say….choose whom you are going to serve and serve with and stand firm in your resolve, as for me I serve the Lord and place my trust in Him….come what may.

Who is Jesus?

woman-taken-in-adultery-948871-gallery

As I was sitting down to write this morning, I asked the Lord, as I always do, to guide my words.  I asked that my words would bring comfort and help….this is the title that came to my mind.  Now, I’m not a professor of religion and so of course, I won’t be going into all the secular knowledge….or even the scriptural references. If you will indulge me in this post, I feel the desire to share who Jesus is to me.

Jesus is the Son of God, He incarnated God when he came to this world.  He is the most gentle, yet powerful being I have ever felt or come to know. His love is kind and consistent, encouraging and all encompassing.  He is a loyal and constant friend.  He lives in the hearts of those who let him and welcome him. When Jesus is in you, you know it because you have peace, you have love for those around you and even those that you don’t know.  You want to be better, be more, do more to help others.   Jesus is the friend that never leaves, the constant companion that lifts you up, encourages you and shows you the way when you ask.  He speaks very openly and frankly when you ask him for honesty and guidance.

The thing I have come to understand the most about Jesus, is that He is the Savior of the World and He is the Savior because He has literally saved the world and all of us who live in it from an eternal death. To understand this and accept this gift we must come to Him and let Him into our hearts and into our lives.  There is no pain or suffering that He does not understand, for He truly did suffer it all and took our personal suffering upon himself in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the Cross of Calvary. He did this so he could be a personal and personable Savior.  Because of His loving sacrifice, his willing atonement, He understands each one of us on a level that we cannot comprehend. We can however, come to know him personally through the gift of his personal sacrifice. When we use the gift and power of the Atonement in our daily lives it enables us to become At-One with Christ.  We become new, with His power in us we can heal from all manner of physical and spiritual diseases.  His enabling power can literally heal every part of us from the inside out.

When I teach my class on the Power of Forgiveness, what i am teaching is what He has taught me, helped me to do and whispered to me over and over again. Christ loves us so much that he wants us to be free in every part of our lives, he wants us to be free from guilt, shame, remorse, fear, hatred,  and all those emotions that block out our ability to feel love and peace and goodness.  He wants us to be free to create, He wants us to be free from faulty thinking that has been passed down through generations that keeps us trapped in reacting and fog our view of truth daily.  All those feelings and negative energies that block out our ability to feel him in our hearts, He wants us to be free, and has provided the way. He is the way!  He has walked with me through the pain of childhood sexual abuse, teenage rape, depression, anxiety, homelessness, mental breakdown….and so much more.  His love has healed those parts of me that no one could reach, no therapist or medicine could heal. His light and his love are all encompassing, all powerful. He is my one true friend, the one who has seen me through it all, who has carried me triumphant to the other side day in and day out. He is magnificent and in Him….I am magnificent and so are you!

Today, I just invite you, if you do not know Jesus or have not invited him into your life.  Do it!  You can’t afford not too, He is the One true Source of Light and Love, He is the one who gives and grants miracles, who rescues us from our darkest selves and the darkness around.  He is the God that can walk by our side, to lead and guide us.  He is the one that you have been looking for every day to rescue you from your own personal hell and to take you to the next level in your life.  Jesus Christ is the One…..He is the Savior of the World and my personal savior and yours. My daily prayer is that you come to Him and that I can be a light to show the way to Him. If you already know Him….be the light too and make a difference!

The Gift of Life

After watching my children open their presents and sitting for a moment to ponder, my heart was touched deeply with the love for mankind. I realize what a privilege and a gift it is to be a part of others lives and to have others be a part of mine, no matter what role they play. I feel that sometimes we do not really realize the significance of each person we have the privilege of meeting and engaging with, negative or positive. Each person has godliness in them, a spark of the divine and so in this we are so blessed to have contact with one another, to have the ability to love and serve God by connecting with each other. I believe we get lost in the negative too much, we get lost in the fear of being judged and in the trap of judging, we hold on to past grudges and we don’t allow ourselves and others around us to change. May I propose that this is the time to let go, let the past be in the past and let whatever has happened to you in your life become a gift to propel you forward with grace and beauty and hope into the future.

In my work, I assist so many to release wounds from the past, deep ones, that have kept them stuck in a cycle of fear, hate, self loathing, abuse, addiction and disease. We talk about how these experiences can truly become gifts because they are what give us the opportunity to learn to overcome, to choose to love, to forgive, to change something dark into Light. The truth is that every part of our lives, every experience is truly a gift, if we will let it be, because of the Atonement of Christ. The gift being that because of the Atonement, the challenges truly are an opportunity to choose whether we want to rise up within ourselves and become strong, loving, forgiving, courageous beings or whether we want to be beaten down victims full of bitterness and self loathing. It is in the experience, the challenge, that the choice is presented, the opportunity is given, the growth comes. The power of the Atonement, pure love, sets us free to learn and to not carry the weight of the experience for longer than is needed. If we could see our lives through God’s eyes, we would realize it is all just a journey to Him, it is all about growth and that it is a blessing if we will let it be….that what happens to us, simply does not change our worth in His eyes. That we are always precious to Him and He wants nothing more for us than to grow into the strong powerful beings that He designed us to be, He understands that for us to do this we must use our agency and so in this, there must be opposition. If we make a shift in our paradigm, the way we see life, the way we see people in our lives, the way we see our experiences…. if we shift to seeing them as gifts for healing, growing, learning and loving, then the way we feel inside will shift.

God made us to be free in our hearts and minds, to be happy and joyful. He provided His Son as a sacrifice so that as we make changes and as we come to Him to do this, we can and will be healed and will move forward in the light and truth of who we really are and what this life is really about. This life is truly a gift, every day is a gift, every experience, every person we have the privilege of coming in contact with. Each experience presents us with the opportunity to choose and to love and to overcome and to serve. Look for the light in each situation….look for the gift, it is there.

The Power in Forgiveness

It seems we live day to day just surviving, we encounter so many different stresses and situations that evoke strong emotions in us that we do not know what to do with it all, so we shove it all down, we keep it inside as to be able to “handle” or feel in control of our lives. Eventually we get to a point where we go numb, get depressed or our physical bodies just begin to break down because it literally cannot handle the stress of carrying around all the negative messages, energy and emotions that we are holding onto and stuffing down and hiding within our bodies. There needs to be a release, a place for this negative energy to go to, besides residing in us.
All thoughts, words and emotions are energy, and stay within us if not released. We need to learn to release negative energy and stay clear and balanced on a daily basis. We have got to let go of past guilt, hurt, anger, regrets. We need to bring ourselves into a space of peace, hope and love. That is what the power of forgiveness does. Truly forgiving and continuing in this space brings power of freedom to act, freedom to love, to have more of love and peace and hope in our lives.
So many of us walk around carrying heavy burdens of guilt and shame, regret and remorse. We are beings of light and were not meant to continue to carry and be weighed down by these things. There is a pure Source to which we can turn to that is unconditional Love and that has the power to help us to put all these negative energies off and heal. Part of that source resides within us, it is the power we have to choose. We have the power within us to change the way we go about life, the way we handle our lives, we have the power to heal and move into a space of peace and love and productivity. God asks us to move into this space, He provides tools and help to do this. Forgiveness is the power of freedom, when we forgive we are letting go of the negative, we are releasing it’s power over us, we are creating space for love and life within us.
So many of us walk around punishing ourselves for past choices, we think somehow that we cannot be forgiven for supposed mistakes,  we deem them so bad that we continually dwell on and carry the burden, punishing ourselves and thinking that this is what we have to do to make recompense. What a lie! The truth is, we are here to learn, the way has been provided for us, through the Atonement of Christ, to be able to put off the negative that comes from poor choices and move into a place of greater power. These experiences are here to teach us and to provide us with wisdom and motivation and power to move into a higher way of living. Trying to make recompense is only hurting ourselves and others that we love and keeping us from becoming the powerful person that we are and were meant to become. We cannot move forward in a space of fear, punishment and regret. Only in a space of freedom, love and peace.
The tool of forgiveness, if used sincerely and frequently allows us to release all the “garbage” built up inside and can help us maintain a state of balance, clarity and peace. We must connect to God to help and direct us in this. His power is love and is healing, and He gives us strength where we lack. Whenever we forgive, we are bringing ourselves close to God, openness to light and truth and well being. We are being’s of light and truth, darkness is foreign to us and offends our souls and well as God. We forgive ourselves because in this we are saying, “I’m sorry for allowing this to hurt my spirit of godliness, I’m sorry for letting this foreign energy reside in a place of God.” Forgiveness is one of they keys to spiritual freedom. Love yourself enough to let go of the past, move into the present and use forgiveness to help you with this. Remember who you are and begin to stand in that….today!

Choose Love

I had a profound experience yesterday that touched me to the very core and pulled me out of my indigenous negative self talk. God spoke to my heart so powerfully and clearly. I was in the kitchen getting breakfast ready for my children, they were beginning to fight and things were unraveling quickly, I could feel myself getting frustrated and wanting to yell. The sudden thought came…”you get to choose, choose love.” I thought to myself, I do get to choose and I choose love, I could feel my heart open up immediately. Then the message and the feeling of intense love came. I heard the Lord’s voice in my mind say…”I love you, I have always loved you, I stand by you, you are my child. I am so pleased with everything you are trying to do. Be at peace.” In that moment of intense love, I understood that truly it is His love that saves and heals us, His love that gives us courage to change and pick ourselves back up after a defeat. Love is the answer to everything, His Love is the most powerful gift and tool. In me grew my desire to take this message to the world and to love on others so deeply. God’s love is the answer to our prayers in every way, His love gives us courage to insurmountable things, His love gives us hope to see thru the darkness, His loves give us power to overcome our own weaknesses and builds in us a desire to be more. He needs us to shine his light and love. We can be the instruments and the tools to which His love can be spread and the message that He gave me is the message He wants everyone to hear and feel and know. The world needs to know that He is not dead, that in Him lies peace and the answers and in us lies His light. We have the power to choose who we want to be in any given moment. I say…”choose love.” I pray we all will give our best effort, to choose love today, to choose to show love and mercy to others, as God and His Son shows us daily, hourly, minute to minute. In this simple choice lies the answer to everything and unlocks the power within. Choose Love…..love. Choose love…..
